How Honey & Stone Co Began
In May 2020, Mandy Richardson approached Amy Robinson about joining the Shoe Shu team as an Operations Manager. What started as casual work drinks soon turned into a deeper conversation about the challenges Mandy was facing sourcing unique stock for her boho boutique, Naked Gypsy.
At the time, many bohemian boutiques across Australia were stocking the same repetitive brands and styles. Mandy and Amy both felt there was a major gap in the market for fresh, vibrant boho fashion that celebrated individuality while also catering to women wanting inclusive plus size boho clothing.
Sitting together on Mandy’s front deck with glasses in hand, the pair discussed their shared vision for the future. They dreamed of creating a label filled with retro-inspired prints, flattering silhouettes, inclusive sizing, and pieces that truly stood out in the crowded bohemian fashion space.
That conversation became the beginning of Honey & Stone Co.
Meet the Designer Behind the Brand
Amy Robinson is a Perth based fashion designer who studied at Bentley Polytechnic. Living near Victoria Park with her partner Chris and their dog Frank, Amy brings years of design experience and a deep love of colour, print, and wearable fashion into every collection.
After experiencing ongoing issues with other clothing suppliers, including poor stitching, inconsistent sizing, and low-quality fabrics, Amy became determined to create a label that prioritised craftsmanship, comfort, and longevity.
Shrinkage was a massive problem. Honey and Stone ensure all of their fabrics are prewashed to prevent these issues.
Every Honey & Stone Co garment is thoughtfully designed with women in mind. From flattering cuts to practical details like pockets and handcrafted tassels, each piece is created to feel special while remaining comfortable and easy to wear.
Ethical Boho Fashion with a Focus on Quality
Over six months, Amy and Mandy sampled designs and trialled tailors throughout India and Indonesia before finally finding the perfect production team for Honey & Stone Co’s first collection.
Unlike mass produced fast fashion, Honey & Stone Co works closely with a small network of skilled tailors in Indonesia who produce garments in limited quantities. Every detail is carefully considered, and Amy collaborates directly with the makers on a one to one basis to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
Today, a dedicated team of approximately twenty Indonesian tailors work exclusively for the brand, handling all in-house pattern making and garment production.

One of the defining features of Honey & Stone Co is its exclusive boho prints and vibrant colour palettes. Amy works closely with talented surface print artists to create one of a kind designs that are unique to the brand.
Many of the prints are either digitally printed or traditionally screen printed by hand in Indonesia, making every collection feel distinctive and artistic.
